Ethics....
FIrst of all thanks for coming on this journey with me. Just FYI, this is NOT a blog but my think-pieces will be included.
Thanks in advanced.
I first want to bring you into my definition of Ethics, then we will look at the classic definiton.
To give my definition, we could get religious but I will keep it simple (KISS). Ethics, to me, is pretty much keeping some "moral code" for yourself even when your body wants to, for example steal company trade secrects and sell them to the highest bidder.
Now we could dig deeper into that and say, "Hey what if this company poisoned a whole citys water system. At that point, I would label that decision in the grey area and the action interpretation/outcome will be up to you for debate.
Being a pentecostal born-again Christian, I keep the scripture Jeremiah 17:9 on my mind; "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"
What does this scripture mean? It simple terms, it means it is in our human nature to do wrong; I dont care who you are. At that point we lean on Jesus to guide us to salvation (moral code) and from there it is up to us to reject our human nature ("sinful nature"). In Christian circles, we call that "killing" our flesh daily.
